You might have heard about some of the great titles from the developers of Rusty Lake. Several of their games are already out and can be played on mobile devices or online on pc at www.rustylake.com. At Firstlook 2015 they showcased one of the games from their awesome Cube Escape series.

Their booth looked really cool! It looked like an old living room, completely matching the style, used in their games. There were several tablets set up where curious gamers could try Cube Escape: The Lake for themselves. The games in the Cube Escape series are quite simple, yet intricate games with a dash of horror mixed in. The basic premise of each of these games is as follows: You’re in a room and have to solve several puzzles in order to make your escape from the room you are currently in.

You can look at the four walls and the ceiling. You can collect objects, which you’ll need to solve puzzles. To open cupboards, you’ll need keys. Sometimes it’s obvious what you have to do, while at other times it takes a bit more thinking. In this installment of the series you can use many objects, including a fishing rod. I mean, really! The stuff we got out of the water; A fish, a key, a corpse! Quite a lovely cabin at the lake, isn’t it?

There was one puzzle where we needed to figure out a code. The only we hint had was: Mirror. We won’t spoil what the solution was, but the developers did tell us we were the only ones to finish it without any help from them. Three hoorays for DumeeGamer.com!

Cube Escape was really fun and we especially enjoyed it, because we could play this game together on one tablet. This series take place in a horror/thriller-like setting. But it’s not the goal of the developer to scare you to death. According to them, solving puzzles in a somewhat uncomfortable setting just sets the right mood. And we couldn’t agree more!

You can play this game on your mobile device, tablet or through the Rusty Lake website. You can find more games there, for example: Alice is Dead, Ninjufo or Little Phobia. And the Cube Escape series consists of six installments already. So, as you can see, this winter you won’t have to be bored at all! You might get a little scared though...
